I have an old PC of my co workers, he is saying that the computer randomly shuts down while he is playing Runescape. I have taken the cover off and noticed that everything is quite dusty. I am thinking of starting with blowing everything out with duster to start. Does anyone else have any ideas? this is also about a 8 Year old computer...

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!!!

Cleaning any dust off will help the computer a whole lot as dust acts as an insulator and can be slightly conductive if I recall correctly. Dust out everything in the case, including the power supply through the fan grille (try to prevent the fan from spinning to fast by sticking something such as a Q tip through the grille if allowed, if not go gently on the dusting by not having the air outlet too close to the fan as well as other fans in the case).
