New ryzen 5800x build not posting. Yellow error led (dram)

Go to solution Solved by AndreiArgeanu,

most x570 and b550 motherboards require a bios update fore Zen 3 cpu's.

Specs

Asus ROG STRIX x570 F Gaming

AMD ryzen 7 5800x

Asus 3080 TUF OC

64GB DDR4 3600mhz ram (2x16 Corsair Vengance RGB Pro)

All above parts are brand new

After spending 3 hours building the system I was super excited to boot the system only to find that it doesnt work.

After I press the power button, all lights light up including ram, all fans spin but I get no monitor signal and the yellow fault led remains on. On Asus boards this means dram.

I have tried reseating the ram

I have tried booting up with only 1 stick

I changed the slots where the ram is

I tried clearing CMOS with a screw driver while the system was unplugged

And nothing, can't figure out why it's not working. I sadly don't have a second system to test my ram sticks

Please help me

Your motherboard has BIOS Flashback, I suggest you use it to make sure the mobo is compatible.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Ok, I'll do that.

I was under the impression it already had the required bios.

Anyway, I'll try updating

and also make sure you rename the bios file to SX570FG.CAP when using BIOS flashback

Yeah. It came with an utility that renames it automatically.

I'm updating it atm, waiting for the bios flashback led to turn off indicating the update is complete.

Here's hoping this will work
