Recently I installed a new graphics card and power supply into my Dell Optiplex 9010. All is well for a week getting about 350 fps on CS:GO on all low settings (I prefer performance over quality) but after about a week I can barely even get to 150 fps and I just spent a decent amount of money and I am worried something is wrong and I don't know why!

Specifications are:

I7-3770, 16gb (2x8) of DDR3 1600MHz RAM, MSI GeForce GT 1030 and a Gigabyte P450B power supply. The power supply and graphics card are brand new. I have overclocked my gpu by +200MHz, the VRAM by +700 and overvolted by 50% in MSI Afterburner. Please help I'm very worried many thanks.

How much money?  3770 is an even older chip than mine, and my chip is old.  It’s one of the oldest chips intel ever did a specter/meltdown mitigation for.  Hit for that should be at least 10%.  Not a cpu I would pay much for at this point.

thing I would check first is temps, but background apps could be one too as could updates for all kinds of stuff.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Remove the oc and see what that does.

Relatively the build was not a lot of money but for my financial situation it was, Together it costed about $550 AUD ($400 USD). My temps are fine as I always have all the fans at max and also have replaced the thermal paste my CPU never gets to or above 60 degrees celsius and my GPU barely gets to but never above 55 degrees celsius. As for the OC I have removed it and nothing changed just to make sure I will do it again but any further help/advice to fix this would be great would be super upset if I just cooked my PC.

Unless you have a monitor that can output 350+ refresh rate which in your limited budget of a system (no offense) you likely dont, you wont see a difference. You can only see what your monitor can output. So if you have a 60 hz monitor, you will only see 60 frames per second regardless if your GPU is pumping out 300+.

Yes very budget PC build. and I actually disagree with how you say that if the monitor is 60Hz you will only see 60 fps because for me there is a noticeable difference between 60 fps and 350. How I think of it is if I get 60 fps on a 60Hz monitor I get 1 frame for every Hz but if I get 120 fps on a 60Hz then I get 2 frames for every Hz. Whether or not I am correct I should have mentioned this sooner but not only has the fps dropped but I have also been getting a lot of stuttering to the point where playing isn't fun but a big annoyance. Any one else have any tips for me to get my PC back to how it was not long ago?

The diffrence here is the frame times. Can you use DDU to remove and reinstall the gpu drivers.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

not how that works, 1hz=1fps if your screen is 60hz you can display 60fps

So?  What does the laptop have to do with anything?  Are you saying there was more input lag on you 60fps laptop than your 60fps desktop?  That wouldn’t necessarilly have anything at all to do with how much lag you had.  The laptop had different other hardware.  Now this fps drop ON your new machine (assuming you’re talking about that rather than the other one) might be for a reason that DOES affect input lag, but it’s that reason, not the fps that would make a difference.

This conversation isnt about input lag. it kind of trailed off because of a mistake I said abt fps and hz. please read above

are you even going to read the initial post? it isnt hard to do scroll up

I did read it obviously.  Much earlier.  Or I wouldn’t have said what I did.  You complained of fps drop from uselessly high for your monitor it less uselessly high for your monitor and you say that even though you only see 60fps it’s “better”.  Since the higher fps has nothing to do with picture quality but could have to do with other things such as input lag it’s clear that it’s “other things”. The question is what other things because that might lead to figuring out why it’s slower.  One obvious one is background apps, but there are other things as well.
