5800x vs 5900x temperatures

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, I was only able to get my hands on a 5800x instead of a 5900x. Still deciding if I am going to use it or wait for a 5900x to be available again.

Can someone explain to me why the 5800x, in many benchmarks (e.g. techpowerup), gets significantly warmer compared to the 5900x? The chips have, design wise, the same TDP, and the 5900x has more cores. So why would the 5800x output more heat?

Machines take me by surprise with great frequency

Silicon has different levels of quality. I assume they used the better quality for the 5900x, which is why it was possible to add two more cores with lower temps
