Can someone please give me advice on Intel Vs Amd new processor for Very High end build

Hi, im trying to build my new pc, i'm mainly building this pc for 1080p on a 360hz monitor, i'm a competitive Valorant player, all i play are competitive games and this is a 99% gaming pc to play at 1080p at high FPS, and i want to get the best performance the specs are below

Processors : Intel Core i9 10900K 10-Core 3.7GHz (5.3GHz TurboBoost)
Motherboard : ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XII EXTREME
Memory : 64GB CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM - WHITE 3200MHz RGB (4x16GB)
System Cooling : CORSAIR H150i PRO XT RGB Cooler Prime cases
System Fans : CORSAIR QL iCUE RGB controlled by iCUE software
Graphics Cards : NVIDIA 24GB GeForce RTX 3090
GPU : 1
Operating System : MS Windows 10 Professional
Operating System Drive : 1TB Samsung 980 PRO
Hard Drive : 1TB Samsung 980 PRO x2
Power Supply : CORSAIR HX1200 PRO PLATINUM

i already have all the parts ready to assembly , but i was seeing some reviews for the new AMD processors, i was wondering if i should just return my i9 10900k CPU and the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XII EXTREME, and get a
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core 3.4GHz (4.9GHz Max Boost) with MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE, i know i could wait for the  RX 6900XT, but i don't want to wait another month, so i'll stick to the 3090 for now, is it worth doing the switch from intel to amd? or it will be the same for what i'm trying to accomplish,

thank you in advance

Just build the pc. You have all the parts.

You won't notice a difference.

Build the 10900K. That Cpu is a beast.

AMD won't be smashing Intel's 3D figures. Looking at 5fps (margin of error) difference.

If you really want to catch those extra frame rates, I'd return them and get AMD instead. Otherwise, as like as @Slottr said, just go as it is.

Humor me, as you should do.

Daily drivers, below.

Diccbudd PC

Intel Xeon E3-1225 v2 || ASRock B75M Motherboard || MSI GeForce GTX 1650 Gaming X 4G || Hynix 2x8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM || 480 GB Pioneer APS-SL3 SATA SSD // 1 TB Seagate 2.5" HDD || be quiet! System Power 9 500 W PSU || Cooler Master T20 CPU Cooler || Samsung S19D300 Monitor || Fantech X6 Knight Mouse || VortexSeries VX7 Pro Keyboard

Samsung Galaxy A34 5G

8GB RAM, 256GB Internal Storage, 128GB SanDisk Extreme, and you could find the rest of the specs on the interwebz lol

Lenovo ThinkPad L390 Yoga

Intel Core i5-8365U || 8 + 16 GB DDR4 (don't ask, gf bought me the 16 GB RAM as my birthday present lol) || Samsung 256GB SSD

Personal Server: CasaOS, Home Assistant, ESPHome, Jellyfin.

AMD E-350 || 3GB DDR3 || 120GB random SSD || 1TB Toshiba HDD

I'd return it and get a 5900X myself. And if the better gaming performance is not reason enough for you, you still get 2 more cores. The 5900 will bring about 33% more FPS in valorant. Of course we're talking about 777 vs 1035 FPS, but like OP said, he's highly competitive. So objectively the AMD CPU is better. And in other competitive games like for example CS:GO it's also noticeably better.

Heres a chart for Valorant from the german reviewer computerbase @1080p low: (durchschnitt = average)

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Build it, even though the amd parts might be slightly better doubt youd be able to tell the difference at that level

Can run this game on a core 2. Lol.

But if this best reflects AMDs capability for triple A titles and gaming, by all means.

Don't forget that you're probably in for quite the wait if you want to switch to AMD. Seems like especially the higher-end chips are sold out all over the place...

thank you guys for the responses, i know at 1080 there's substantial difference, it feels like at a higher resolution the difference decreases

i could lie to you and tell you to build with the 10900k, but honestly i'd return the 10900k and wait til zen 3 is in stock if you are gonna use that build for 2-3 years, but at the end of the day it's ur call.

Which processor would you do? I don't mind spending $250 more between 5950x and 5900x

the 3950x was heavily binned over the 3900x, i'm not sure if thats the case for the 5950x. I'm waiting on a 5950x myself but just waiting for there to be more supply (not gonna fight over it), ddr3800 cl14.

can't go wrong with either the 5900x or 5950x, there are some light compiling i plan to do, probably only need 8 cores but going 16 for fun.

pcie4.0 helps 1-2% in gpu and in some apps with a pcie4 ssd (mostly editing related)

x570/b550 support zen 3, b450/x470 will get update but could cause some waiting depending on board and could have other quirks.  If buying new get x570/b550.  All of these have pcie 4.  Zen 3 on older boards is a after thought added for exiting users wanting to upgrade.

500 series mobo, zen 3, and rx6000 series combined allow direct ram access between gpu and cpu.  If extra for 3090 over 3080 was worth it, I would say ryzen 9 on x570 or b550 is worth it over i9.
