I believe the answer is no, but you can find IPS panels that can be overclocked to run at 120hz

Yeah some of the Korean panels can be overclocked in between 96hz, 120hz and beyond depending on which one you get and its just like CPU and GPU overclocking in the since that some monitors overclock well and can reach 120hz and some can only be pushed at 96hz.

If you want to overclock a monitor, to 120Hz, it must be 1080p. Anything higher goes above DVI specifications, and results in frame drops.

However, you may be fine at 75-90Hz.

It must also be noted that IPS panel aren't yet fast enough for 120Hz, so the response time won't be good, especially not next to a good 120Hz monitor. I must say "good", because they are some people that say how wrong I am on that, when they use a 60Hz TN panel, overclock by the manufacture to 120Hz, just plain bad 120Hz panels, so you get crap. The smoother visuals are mix of the slow response time at this refresh rate and faster panel.

Also, many cheapo ebay Korean monitor feature awful input lag, as they use some generic ultra low end, circuit just drive the panel. That is how you can overclock them, there is no check, no color processor, no nothing. Most of these monitors don't even have an on screen menu, and if you do, it's has virtually no option. That is also why they are so cheap. Not to mention that, they use A- panels and not A+ quality grade panels, where the panel is essentially a reject. A- panel means that you may have a few or 0 dead or stuck pixel, but it's something else wrong with the panel (durability, faulty pixel grid, back light bleeding that is not suppose to be there for such panel grade, doesn't deliver the response time, some pixels don't block the back light properly resulting in a 'star' effect up close, a zone or full screen is not as sharp as it should, but looks fine to the untrained eye, and so on. However, as manufactures goes with batch, you can have good panels in them. So these cheap eBay Korean manufactures uses the best they got. But, you are trusting their level of judgement. If you have very high standards, you might be unlucky. Most are content, due to the lower price, so a trade off. For I see no deal. The panel is faulty unless lucky... and I might not detect it on day 1, but one day I'll will, and it will annoy me. PLUS that is with the other downsides: dollar shop build quality, lack of basic feature, no inputs beside dual link DVI, lack of on screen menu and option, non fully adjustable, glossy generic enclosure, glossy panel, buttons that does nothing (due to the generic case), potentially high input lag, no warranty (well you do, but good luck shipping that 27inch monitor from where you are, all the way to South Korean, and potentially (depending on your country) pay duty fees AGAIN for the replacement, and might still be faulty, and the warranty, is filled with exceptions and conditions to basically not cover you for anything).

So really, in my opinion, not worth it. I'll live with 60Hz goodness. I prefer better looking games, a monitor that really shines the fact of playing my games at high settings, and really enjoy the art style of the game, over 120Hz. Then again, I see games like movies: art. Not competitive playing.

In addition, what I am reading is that it looks like actually few people got the monitor running at 120Hz. Most are 90Hz. Assuming they check for frame drop (most don't, and are content with what they have).
