System won't post with XMP enabled

Oh my lord. It's working. 3600 speed posts and boots perfectly after updating to bios P1.5 and updating the chipset drivers. I'm astonished.

It depends on the kit. 

I'd prefer you buy a higher quality IC no matter what speed it is.

With Asrock BIOS I think you need to manually select memory frequency after enablimg XMP/DOCP.

 

Also, is this the latest BIOS? Might as well check if chipset driver is up.to date too

p1.1, so second to earliest bios actually. Brand new board, haven't updated the bios or chipset drivers yet. Had no idea that those could have an effect on memory performance

Yep things are definitely wrong when even 8GBx2 config (i.e. the most tested config) doesnt work at 3600MHz, Zen 2 is much better than that. Not to mention that 2 of 8GBx4 kits are better binned than a 8GBx2 kit just because running more sticks leads to harsher environment
