im looking for a keyboard i have a logitech combo set i bought for cheap while i rebuild my rig. now almost done and the combo set just aint cutting it. i used to have a das keyboard cherry mx blue which i loved. i cant find another one of those to buy unless i pay import fees and wait a long time to get it. are there other keyboard with the number pad, no rgb, i would like it to be wireless but that would be a miracle, and cherry mx blue switches. i dont have a set budget

If I remember correctly you're in Canada right? CanadaComputers does carry them but they seem to have no stock at all unless you're close to their Scarbrough, ON or Markham Unionville locations. https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_273_282&item_id=070515

Difference between cherry and Gateron switches is next to zero

Keychron makes these boards with white backlight,  instead of RGB LED's. Memory Express sells them.

Unfortunately that's the extreme NICHE of the mech market.

yea seems like everything has rgb these days was super hard to get a bunch of computer parts without rgb as well managed to still abit of rgb but i cant notice it at all so i dont mind it. asus tuf z490 plus wifi motherboard has some i have it turned off but it still comes on until windows fully boots up so i got rgb for a few seconds. but i have a phanteks p600s with the tempered glass which is tinted so not a big deal for a few seconds. i couldnt find anything else comparable. also the asus tuf rtx 3080 i plan on buying has rgb as well but i cant get away from it but it is very little rgb and is same software as the mobo so should be easy to turn off.

Out of curiosity, why is just keeping the RGB off not sufficient, and why are you dead set on Cherries? Kailh BOX switches are about the same, sometimes even cheaper, and will both sound and feel significantly better.

i just hate rgb even if you turn off the rgb while the system is booting waiting for software to boot the rgb still lights up waiting for the software to tell it to turn off not to mention that ive had alot of issues in the past with software just not working half the time and having to uninstall and reinstall. i dont even plug in my power led or my hdd led to my motherboard so besides fans spinning you cant even tell if the computer is turned on and well of course the monitor showing windows etc. but if i turn my monitor off when i go to sleep then i cant tell if pc is on or off and no annoying rgb lights annoying my while trying to sleep.

as for cherry mx blue, its all i know and i like them. if you like something why waste money on something else if you are not sure you will like it. i dont concern myself with how much it costs i just want what i want and willing to pay for it

...what? Any RGB keyboard worth its salt (including the single one I've owned, my Masterkeys Pro S) will store that stuff keyboard-side. You turn RGB off, it'll stay off until you turn it back on; it stays in the keyboard's memory.

Kailh BOX White will be cheaper and I promise you'll like them just as much if not more.

I never said you should buy that. I was using it as an example of your incorrect generalization for RGB on keyboards.

You said you were unable to get that without paying import fees and waiting a while. I'm not sure why you'd bother making a thread asking for advice, then ignore all of it and go with what is arguably one of the worst options available.

because all of the advise that has been given is to buy a rgb keyboard, buy non cherry mx blue switches. which i believe in my original post i said i wanted a non rgb keyboard and a cherry mx blue switch keyboard so the advise that has been given is completely useless because it never followed the perimeters i asked for

and yes i will have to pay $30 and wait 2-3 weeks to get it but at least i get what i want and not buy something i dont want or dont like.

We suggested this because you can get a significantly better keyboard for the same or less money. RGB can be turned off, and Cherry MX switches are, quite frankly, shit.

But hey, if you wanna go spend several hundred on a Das, be my guest.

i also said in my original post that "i dont have a set budget" i dont care if i have to spend 500 on a keyboard to get what i want. and i like cherry mx blue switches i like the loud clickly sound and i like the feel. too bad stores dont have options to go feel them out anymore. thats how i found the das keyboard 2 years ago. but then my apartment flooded and ruined everything. so im rebuilding.

You're not gonna find much mechanical keyboard without some kind of backlight

Even mine from pre-rgb era have backlights

Also, do you really want wireless? Running out of battery mid-game sucks and if you aren't gaming in bed or on a couch, I don't see why going wireless is a good idea

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

wireless is not a major deal breaker, rgb and cherry mx blue is. so far im gonna stick with the das keyboard seems to suit all my requirements just wish it was wireless as well. i wanted wireless because the cables that come with the keyboard is to short for where i have my tower placed and i dont have enough room to move it closer. which means using a usb extension which is not a problem would just make it alot tider when it comes to cable management
