New PC Build Help/Advice

RumSwift

Budget (including currency): £650

Country: United Kingdom

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Overwatch, Destiny, Minecraft, GTA, other similar games. Not really any new AAA titles. Photoshop and general word processing. Maybe some programming.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

So I posted over on reddit originally saying I had a budget of ~£500 and was suggested the following parts list for a PC I'm going to build my brother for School/Gaming:

However, trying to find a 3300x in the UK at the moment is basically impossible and when you do find them, the prices are horrifically inflated. Since getting this list, I've decided to increase the budget to £650 and this would need to cover everything other than the peripherals as he's already got those. Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated (again) as I'm no good at the part picking side of things :P

You can currently order a 3300X of amazon for about 115£ but it'll probably take longer to arrive since it is currently out of stock. Also you're better off getting a rx 580 or rx 480, etiher card is better than the 570 and costs the same or an additional 10-20£ at most, that is assuming you're getting the GPU used. Also perhaps get a 250gb ssd instead of the 120gb. Otherwise the build is fine.

Aye, I saw they were on Amazon awaiting stock. From past experiences with ordering like that though, I've never got the stuff in time. I would have preferred being able to order everything at once. That's just me though. Seems it might be the only way to get one, thanks for the heads up.

Will definitely look into getting one of the other GPUs and a better SSD though, cheers for the advice!

I'd recommend against used polaris GPUs. They were very popular mining cards, and there's no way of telling whether they were used to play games a few times or if they were running cointinuously in a server for 3 years.

Build this. Good deals in here - tempered glass case with a psu basement for 30, 1tb ssd for 65, good price on the ram and 1660.
