Hi everyone, so I was playing The Outerworlds for a bit today and out of nowhere my screen went black, I couldn't do anything so I turned my pc off. When I turned it on I see a light and hear a spark come from my pc so I turn it off and on again to see where it came from and it was my gpu. I took my gpu apart and found this, Pics attached, anyone have any guesses as to what happened here?

Could be, are you thinking it's a psu problem instead of gpu? All other components are fine in my pc however.

R187 has exploded, maybe some damage to 188 and 189, hard to see.

Any thought on what could cause it? I'm trying to rule out a bad psu before I place another gpu in there.

I don't know what R187 does on your GPU, sorry. It does suggest a faulty GPU though... given that it's, you know, broken 😉

Could you get hold of a filthy-cheap GPU to test in the PC before getting another one? If something in the PC is now causing the GPU/PCIe device to fail, it might be a worthwhile sacrifice? Doesn't have to be anything capable of running the games you want - just something you can run a stress test on.

It's dead, Jim.
