The internet light blinks on most modems to indicate there is active traffic, so yes it is normal.

Alright, thanks for the info sorry for the dumb question I had seen somewhere that if the internet light is blinking that means that there is a a fault in the dsl wire or wall line now I know that is not the case thanks again and enjoy the rest of your day.

In case you wanted some more information, you can read the owners manual. Here's the part about the Internet LED:

  • Solid white. The modem router detected an Internet connection.

  • Solid amber. The modem router is not connected to a DSL, cable, or fiber

modem, or the modem router did not detect an Internet connection.
    For more information, see
Troubleshoot the Internet Connection on page 299.

  • Blinking white. Data is being transmitted over the Internet connection.

  • Alternating white and amber. The traffic meter is enabled and the traffic limit

    is reached.

  • Off. The modem router cannot connect to the Internet or the Internet connection failed.
