Absolute budget laptop for a dev for traveling

Hey guys

 

I need some advice to choose my go-to latop/notebook for web development.

Critical factors:

- must be lightweight

- decent battery life (let's say 10-12hrs+)

- screen size: 13" - 15" (optimal would be 14")

 

Nice-to-have aspects:

- USB 3.0

- SSD

- backlit keyboard

 

The point is to have a system on the go with me in case I need to fix/edit something, or just want to lay on the couch while coding.

No fancy stuff needed, I'm down to new as well as to used offers/suggestions.

This will not be used to anything else, perhaps the usual stuff: YouTube (to watch Linus ofc), social media, office work (Excel, Word, maybe PPT)

Budget is around 400 USD.

Thinkpad T460S or X1 Carbon 4-5th gen. Check out /r/thinkpadsforsale, I've seen some good deals there recently.

Try to get a refurbished Thinkpad. Those are usually cheap, with a core i5 i7 of the 4th + generation, 8-16 gb ram, and sometimse even a 250 gb ssd
