Can you help me pick a cpu based on prices in my area?

Diocane

Can someone help me choose a cpu for gaming in relation to prices?

-ryzen are overpriced in my area

- lga 1200 : i3 10100 (124€), i5 10400f(160€)

- lga 1151 (saving 15€ for mobo): i5 9400f (140€) Which would you choose? If you ask me I can tell you how much other cpu are priced. (Gpu is gtx 1660, the super costs 40€ more and I think that for 1080p 75hz is too much)

I'm not telling you which one of those is the best but I can say that the 9400f did me well for almost 2 years. I've also heard the 1660 Super is good bang for your buck. Again that's just my opinion

Looks like that CPU goes for about €131.90 where they are assuming prices are roughly the same for each country in the EU or atleast that what the pcpartpicker site is showing when set for Germany.

if the 3300x is less the 135, i'd go for that. it's significantly better than the 10100

In Italy it's not even available on Amazon, but I think that goes for over 150€

It's only available on Amazon uk for 127, but I don't know how it works now with brexit.

EDIT: 9400f often goes on sale for 128, would it be worth?

right, i've looked at some benchmarks and things look like this:

for gaming at 1080p,  the 10100 and the 9400f are almost identical.

the 3300x is better than both, but behind the 10400f.

the 3100 is slower than the 10100 at stock, but you can overclock it to the same performance.

so my advice would be:

if you don't want to overclock, go with the 10100, as it's on a more recent socket

if you are happy to overclock, go with the r3 3100, as it's cheaper than the 10100

brexit hasn't officially happened yet, so there are no import fees for now

I must ask, you think that 10400f at that price is not worth, right? I've been seeing people on like reddit telling me to go for it for example

10100 + 1660 super should give better gaming performance than 10400 + 1660.

And if I would consider picking only 1660?

in gaming only, the difference will be insignificant.

I would try then to order it and see what the price will be at checkout as it should show you the total with taxes before you click ok.

If so then get it but if not then go with whatever recommendation the others gave you.
