Help: Green Lines on Screen

Hello all,

 

This is my first pc build and when it boots up, there are green lines across the screen. The resolution is also really low 800x600 and the bios is unusable. Tried to update the graphics driver but it keeps failing and refreshing. The monitor works fine, testing the display out from my laptop.

 

mother board: msi tomahawk x570

cpu: r7 3800x

gpu: gtx 760, got this from a friend planning to get a 3080.

ram: 32gb 3600 c16

psu: seasonic 750w 80+ gold

I'd chalk that up to being monitor or GPU failure. Easy way to narrow this down is to hookup a different KNOWN GOOD working monitor to the GPU in your PC, or connect this monitor to another KNOWN GOOD working PC to see if the green lines appear on that PC too.

The monitor is working I use it for work daily. Unfortunately I don't have another gpu. F

I wonder if this is the same issue...

I've been having this problem ever since I upgraded to a GTX 1060...

But I did notice that it only appears every time GPU load went to 40-100%
