Replies bug

Go to solution Solved by colonel_mortis,

I've reported this to IPS (the forum software devs) but it's a fairly edge case and trying to fix it is likely to introduce quite a bit of complexity, so it may not be fixed. There is no need to do this though - (successfully) submitting the editor will always load all pending replies.

Browser, version and OS:  Chrome os on google

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

I reply then I press show another reply.

What happened?

It showed the reply twice, once before mine and once after

What did you expect to happen?

I thought it would work normally

Please provide more information.

Do you have a screenshot of the issue?

Link to the thread that it happened?

Which reply was shown twice; your reply or someone else's?

If you refresh the page does it still display two replies?

If I'm understanding correctly, the chain of events here is:

  • Reply to topic
  • "1 new reply" popup appears
  • Click show on the popup
  • The new post is inserted twice

Is that right?

Is this the only time you've experienced this, or has it happened a few times?

HTTP/2 203

i can confirm this happens

basically, when you submit a reply, the page will auto load replies before yours

if you click the "show reply" on the side while reply is submitting, the previous replies will load twice

sometimes loading before yours, sometimes after

it returns to normal after a refresh.

my browser and OS: chrome and windows 10

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
