I am looking at running an Ethernet line up to my bedroom. i am renting so i cant make any holes to run the Ethernet cable but then i came across moca adapters for converting an Ethernet connection to coax and then back to Ethernet. because i have a pre run coax cable i wanted to know if i could connect my old router thru coax to my existing router as the cost of a moca adapter is not very cheap and I already have a spare router

I have a strange feeling something like that isn't going to be much better than Powerline.

Moca adapters are rated for nearly gigabit speeds depending on what you get. And yes, they are much much better than power lines. Coax is actually shielded and designed to carry data. Moca adapters will even work on the same coax used to give you Cable TV/Internet.

If your router has Coax then its most likely a Cable gateway (Modem/Router). Standard routers dont have coax connections. Im going to say your going to be safer getting a pair of Moca adapters.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
