Any ideas with warzone?

Chaos Network

I just upgraded my setup from first gen ryzen to 3rd gen. I had warzone uninstalled. Reinstalled the game last night and updated all my drivers and everything. I can not maintain over 100fps in game, which is frustrating as i have a 144 hz monitor

My system:

Ryzen 5 3600x

Gskill Aegis 2x8 2400mhz

Asus rog b450-f

Evga sc2 1080ti

1tb sata 3 ssd.

My cpu and ram sit at about 75% usage while in game. I have settings turned way tf down, and my gpu stays under 10% usage. I did not notice any difference in frames after i turned everything down.

Does anyone have any ideas on what may be bottlenecking me? or is it just like pubg and is terribly optimized?

Ram speed could be a cause, Ryzen literally CRAVES and Uses all the Ram SPEED you can give it (until 3600/3733Mhz)
2133/2400/2666 based Ryzen CPU's usually have worse performance than people expect from their CPU purchases.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

When you upgraded your CPU (Im assuming CPU upgrade only) did you pull the CMOS and reset BIOS so that it doesnt think its still working with the other CPU?  2400mhz is pretty slow for infinity fabric also

To put it in perspective (on the RAM) you are running 2.4ghz RAM.  That CPU cant breath correctly until you run about 1ghz faster than that (3200-3600mhz).

On my first gen Ryzen the differences between 2133mhz, 2666mhz, 3000mhz, 3200mhz, and 3600mhz is progressively night and day difference.

I have 1 stick of corsair vengance pro rgb. part of a 2x8 kit of 3200mhz. one of the sticks is dead. would i be better off using that? or the 2x8 @  2400 mhz

1 stick will be worse than 2 slow sticks - Single Channel is worse than slow Dual Channel.

Can manually overclock those 2400mhz if you know what you are doing (or learn via internet, or using Ryzen DRAM Calculator, etc)

odds that i overclock too far and kill something? thats why i have never really overclocked anything. I have an aio cooler on my cpu, and had a custom aio on my old 980ti, but have never done any overclocking

Download Ryzen DRAM Calculator, input what you have, its a pretty sophisticated piece of software that will tell you, based on the type of RAM you have, what settings you should set to make it run.

Also will need to download Thaiphoon, another piece of software that will deep dive into your RAM and give you all the specs info (which you will need to input into Ryzen DRAM Calculator).

DDR4 base runs at 1.2v.  XMP typically sets it to 1.35v.  People have ran 1.4 - 1.8v on DDR4.  Personally I havent gone past 1.35v so thats where I would stop personally.  If its running 1.2v at 2400mhz its got some headroom for overlocking to 2666, 2933mhz perhaps.

Id start with Thaiphoon, and Ryzen DRAM Calculator, plug in the values and try those in BIOS.  If it fails to post, try (they give 3 recommendations I believe) another set of values.  If PC gets unbootable just pull CMOS battery and reset BIOS.

Must have software for overclocking Ryzen

Save a bios profile if the bios has the ability to do profiles.

Save it as is.

Then save another as experimenting.

Only worry about doing the Ram OC, the other components are not limiting.

My mindset is manually doing it..

Or go the modern route with software to help like the previous post.. this guy seems well versed.

Ryzen DRAM Calculator came after I already got my manual 3600mhz overclock stable on Ryzen 1...took a while but it was worth...TBH Ive personally never used it other than to download it, see my RAM specs more acutely (Thaiphoon) then see what DRAM Calc said.  I agree on the manual method...LEARN IT :) This system was my first time learning to OC RAM lol and worth it:
