Do I Have Enough?

Hello all!

I have had my beloved laptop for about three years now.  It is a Dell Inspiron Gaming 7567, one that LTT actually did a video on.

For any of you not familiar, the specs are as follows:

CPU: Intel Core i5 7300HQ

GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050ti

RAM: Dell (OEM) 8gb DDR4 2400Mhz

Storage: 1TB OEM Toshiba 5400RPM HDD

                    I added a 256Gb Samsung 970 Evo NVME SSD a year later.

Although this is not the highest end system even from the time, it was what I had the budget for and has served all of my different school, gaming, and musical production needs perfectly, although, sometimes certain Chrome things eat all the ram, but I have like 30 tabs open at one time.  (Don't judge!)

Recently, however, I had updated and played some of my games, COD: MW to be specific, and my PC lagged and stuttered at the lowest settings at 1080p.  Of course, I do know that the minimum requirements are 8gb RAM for the game.

This laptop's MOBO supports up to 32GB SODIMM RAM at 3200Mhz.  With that in mind, should I upgrade my RAM and fulfill both DIMMS for dual channel?  Or is my computer too underpowered to the point where it isn't worth adding anything else to it?  If I should, how much RAM should I install, and what clock speed?

I know that I could upgrade to a better system, but I want to hold off until I get to my next step in life where I'll most likely need a totally different type of PC, or even a desktop for that matter.

Anyways, thanks for the input!  I want to make this machine last as long as it can!

Upgrade to 16gb if you can.

8gb for gaming is a bit thight.

clockspeed should be the same as the first one.

Dual channel is a big upgrade to be sure, especially for modern games, but 32GB is a bit overkill.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B
