- I’m guessing this is the new HomePod.
- Introducing HomePod MINI!!
- I looks like a new Amazon Echo... but inverted lol!
- Apple really does host the best virtual events, these transitions are insane! (Shhhh, I am a geek, I appreciate this stuff!).

— Bob now talking about HomePod.
- Backlit touch surface.
- “Amazing sound”.
- Intelligent assistant (Siri).
- Smart Home features.
- Privacy and Security.
- Full range dynamic driver.

Ok, THAT was freaking incredible. Just when you think the iPhone 12 will be “more of the same”, they do something like this. iPhone 12 and especially the 12 Pro/Pro Max devices are BY FAR the best phones in the world. NOTHING comes close, not even remotely. In terms of pure power of the A14Bionic chip, to the camera system with Dolby Vision and LiDAR, these devices are revolutionary. Absolutely outstanding!

The presentation is soo long, i thought i missed it, 1 hour away, open youtube it's still running.

The smartphone tech is so overwhelming, this is their golden era of discovery.

- 5G : another name for "faster than today", which is already fast imo.

- Magsafe : nice

- f1.6 : nice

- Lidar scanner : nice

Personal opinion on the topic: When will apple understand that I don’t upgrade a phone for its camera. I haven’t found any innovative features in the new iPhone.  5g already available in different phones, notch still exists, fast charging also already available in other phones the only new feature is the wallet cover which i see no reason for its existence. Its a shame to enter the iPhone webpage that takes 4 minutes to scroll and its 95% about the cameras, if i want to take photos professionally id spend the same price on a camera instead of a phone. And one more extra thing based on information on their website today they’re excluding the power brick and earphones from the phone this way they can pickpocket a bit more money from their customer. Its a shame to see apple fall down from being innovators to being mediocre at best, thriving of their customers cult following. The only reason id consider upgrading from my old iPhone 7+ to another apple device is the long term software support other than that i guess my new phone is going to be team android.

Realistically how many people don't already have these? Its better for the environment and less clutter around my house. I'm happy they're being excluded

I have news and need to clarify some Apple BS as they made this confusing for people to figure out and intentionally tried to gloss over it. I just wrote this, took a while to get to the bottom of it but I did get there in the end (had to use their website as the information wasn’t exactly front and centre!)

 

The iPhone 12 PRO camera is WEAKER than the iPhone 12 PRO MAX.

 

Surprising move by Apple as it makes no f*cking sense. 

 

Let me explain. This was very confusing as they explained it as VAGUELY AS POSSIBLE on the livestream. 

 

iPhone 12 Pro: Telephoto Lens has f2.0 and a 52mm focal length. (Same as iPhone 11). 

 

iPhone 12 Pro MAX: NEW Telephoto Lens is f2.2 (worse than iPhone 12 Pro) BUT has a 65mm focal length. MORE ZOOM than iPhone 11 and 12 Pro.

iPhone 12 Pro: STANDARD WIDE angle (the main camera lens) is very similar / same as iPhone 11.

 

iPhone 12 Pro MAX: STANDARD WIDE angle (the main camera lens) has a substantial upgrade! It has a faster f1.6 aperture, NEW sensor that is 47% larger with 100% Focus Pixels, AND 87% BETTER low light performance!

I do agree with you, kinda. Thing is, they are including a USB-C to Lightning cable. It is not a USB type A cable. So the “2 billion adapters” they keep saying they have shipped would not work with the included USB-C cable lol.

 

Yes the iPhone 11 Pro came with USB-C to Lightning AND a USB-C Adapter, but that was only last year. Most people who have iPhones would still only have a USB-A adapter, meaning the cable included with their new iPhone 12’s wouldn’t work with those adapter lol. They’d have to use an old USB-A to Lightning cable to charge their new phones and only use the new cable once they buy a new USB-C adapter.

 

I think Apple should have included the USB-C adapter this year, and phased it out from next year. That way they’d have covered “most” people with a new USB-C adapter.

Exactly like for the premium price you’re paying they should’ve included the type c brick and they should’ve ditched the entire lightning port by itself in my opinion and went with a usb c to c and be done with it already

The port is being ditched next year but not in the way you hope.

 

I can see the iPhone 13 being made portless, thats why they implemented magsafe

This is how I see it going too. 

 

Only bad thing is doesn’t “wireless charging” cause the battery to heat up more - which therefore reduces its life? Will be interesting to see how they handle that.
