Hey,

I am a high school student planning to build my first PC as a gift for my dad and I need some help.

Since I want to surprise him with something I made myself I have a pretty tight budget of about ₹20k (~$300) and I have pretty much finalized upon the hardware but I still haven't figured out the software, I wanna know if anyone of you could tell me how to get a cheap copy of windows or a windows key?

Well you could run windows unactivated.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

first you can use windows without activation and the only things you will lose are some customization options and that watermark and oem licenses are all over ebay

if it was useful give it a like :) btw if your into linux pay a visit here

Someone should create subforum "frequently repeated topics" to filter this type of posts. Maybe then community would focus on interesting problems instead of repeating the same questions again and again. And I bet lot of people will be happy to wrote the same answers in that subforum. And eneryone will be happy.

It may be even more divided. For example subforum "how to install Windows" where 99% of  topics will be named "how to install Windows". Or "where to buy cheap key" with all the same posts with the same names.
