(Help) GPU not being used to its full potential

I had been playing GTA 5 recently.

Yesterday I was getting around 60-70fps at ultra settings.

But today I got only around 20-30fps. I am not able to understand the exact reason. Also my GPU is only being used 30%. I don't remember the amount prior to this troubling development but I am sure it was higher than atleast 30%.

(Also same driver, no update or anything.)

The laptop used here is a Dell G5 15 SE (CPU 4600H, GPU 5600M)

As far as I am aware, it is not due to throttle or something like that.

I will provide other necessary details upon demand.

I will also try some other fixes to see if those work or not.

I tried running Heaven, and my GPU is being used about 90-100%. So this might lead me to believe it's some sort of driver bug.

Check to make sure that you have GTA set to full screen and not windowed or anything, sometimes tabbing out changes this setting.

That didn't change anything for me sadly.

Is it just GTA having problems? Might be corrupt textures if it is.

Try another game and see what happens. If it's fine and just GTA then yeah you might have to reinstall or repair your install

WD2 is running fine. GTA IV is running fine. I did a diagnostic test to see and everything was good

I'll try reinstalling if nothing else works. Do corrupt textures really make the game this unplayable? To the point where your framerate becomes comparatively low?

Yes they do because of t can't physically read the files correctly so it's only half reading them and your CPU and GPU don't know what to do with the information they are being given.

A reinstall will fix this error I'm pretty sure of it.

Sorry for the late replies.

Have you changed any of the default settings of the GPU using a third party controller like afterburner?
