Recovering data from sdcard

Hey guys.

Any proven working programs to recover photos and videos  from sdcard?

 

 

On side note, if someone is ereasing phone remotely does sdcard data get removed? I got phone back from friend and there was still gmail account on... then notification popped that action is required and shortly after phone got ereased. I asked him right after if he did it remotley and i said that my sdcard data is gone and he denied but i guess thats because of how pissed i was to lose pictures from 5 years. So he said no.. I dont think phone did it on its own.
