MSI B550 Gaming Edge Wifi vs B550 Carbon vs B550 Tomahawk

I currently have a b450 tomahawk max to compliment my ryzen 3600 build cos that’s what people told me to buy last Christmas.

It’s fine, I can’t really complain for the price I got it for (£80), but I’m looking to upgrade cos I want a Gen 4 SSD, a Gen 4 GPU, more rear usb ports, a front usb-c header for my nzxt h510 and something’s that’s gonna handle a 5950x when I upgrade in the future.

The B550 Edge & Tomahawk are the same price at £159 and the carbon is £10 more at £169. I’m willing to stretch my budget if there’s something significantly better for £180, but no further cos that’s entering x570 territory and I don’t want an x570 boards cos of the chipset fan.

Go tomahawk.

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

Go Tomahawk, or if you want WiFi performance too, then go Carbon

iirc the edge and the tomahawk has the same VRMs, the edge has slightly better temps though:

cant go wrong with either really, just find which ones has the features you want and fits you the most, no need to pay the extra for the carbon.

Tomahawk and the gaming edge are both the same in terms of vrm, the gaming edge has wifi and the tomahawk does not, either one of these are decent in all honesty, and the carbon doesn't really perform better than both of these.
