Ok so, I made this post earlier:

I now have that same 1060 and a 1070 ftw 2.

Can I use both of these cards, is there any point?

I know I can't as sli as Nvidia doesn't allow it. But I read somewhere that you can assign different tasks to different gpu's. Like PhysX which I'm ashamed to say can't really remember what that is exactly.

Basically, rather than putting my 1060 in a box is there any additional use I can get out of it on top of the 1060?

1060 does not support SLI

1060 as physics card will be worse than 1070 because of the extra overhead during communication

only real usage scenarious would be if you do 3D rendering with GPU and you render with for example the 1060 while gaming with the 1070.

Or you can run Linux on the 1060 as the main OS and passtrough the 1070 to the VM for Windows for gaming.

You want to use the tool to accomplish a task, not find a task for the tool.

If it's going unused, you might consider selling the 1060, as they're reaching the point where the value is dropping quickly.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Linux - Fedora

I'm going to sell it anyway but wanted to know if there's any use of it for the time being. apparently nothing I can really do with it. Thanks for the replies.

I use both to encode as I can select each device. So with my stream pc, one can record and the other can stream Not really a benefit but my cpu is too weak to use it.

I don’t use my other cards for much. But looks better in there so it’s prolly gonna stay.
