Hey all,

I have been on here asking questions lately and haven't received bad advice yet. :) I was wondering, what is the best external backup hard drive? I'm looking for about 1 terabyte of storage space, no fancy software, and it will only be a backup drive, probably backup on a weekly basis.

Thanks

Erty

Does not having a second parenthesis around something bother anyone else as much as it does me? (Like if this statement was missing a second side)

The WD My Passport has always been a solid recommendation to people who ask me. There are other 1TB external drives that come in at a lower price, but as far as reliability and stable enclosures go, this one is a great choice.

CPU: i5 4670k • Cooler: Corsair H100i • Motherboard: MSI Z87 MPOWER • RAM: Crucial Ballistix Elite 2x 8GB • Storage: Samsung 840 250GB SSD, 2x WD Red 3TB • GPU: EVGA GTX 780 3GB • PSU: Corsair RM750W • Case: Corsair 750D • Mouse: Razer Naga 2012 (I actually use the thing for productivity/media buttons) • Keyboard: Ducky Shine 3 w/ Browns - Green LED • Monitor: Asus PB278Q 27" 2560 x 1440, ASUS PB238Q 23" 1920x1080 • Lighting: 2m NZXT Sleeved Blue LED Strip • pcpartpicker.com/p/3cHfZ

Do you need USB 3.0?

If so I have been using the Buffalo Drivestation and it has been amazing.
