Budget gaming PC

romintar

Budget (including currency): 800-1,000 USD (60,000 Philippine Pesos)

Country: Philippines

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA games

I am a gamer. I mainly play FPS games and the first ever game that caught my heart was the CS 1.3, then after graduating college I went to work and I have been very busy since then. Last PC that I had (which I eventually sold) was way back year 2014.

I compete locally and usually play with low settings, last game that I played was PUBG & CS:GO. Well, I play in low settings because I needed to see the enemies easier and a friend of mine told me that it gives more speed in the computer.

This year, early 2020, I tried my best to keep myself educated about the latest parts and what's new in building a new PC. So please bear with me and let me know what would be the best option for me. Please feel free to give your suggestions.

Here are the PC specs that I am planning to have on the last week of October or the first week of November 2020:

CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 3600

MOBO: MSI B550M MOTHERBOARD

RAM: TEAM DELTA 2X8 16GB DDR4 3200

GPU: ZOTAC RTX 2060 VIDEO CARD

STORAGE: 480GB SSD

                    1TB SSD

PSU: SEASONIC 650W

CASE: TECWARE FORGE M CASING (NON RGB)

Existing peripherals:

24" LG 24GM79G 144Hz TN Panel Monitor display (Do I need to get a new monitor? I like TN Panels since it gives faster response time however I know there's some IPS monitors that gives a similar response time comparing to a TN monitors)

Razer Deathstalker gaming keyboard

Logitech G304 Wireless

Razer Hammerhead Pro v2 earphones (in-ear)

Thank you so much!

Do you plan on 4K?

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Please try searching up the answer before you post here but I am always glad to help

Hmm. Actually, I am still thinking about it. Still considering this one but I still have more or less 4 weeks until i get to decide whether to push through with it or not.

Thank you so much for this input Mahyar

Not really but it would still be awesome if I could watch videos or movies on 4K during my free time but mostly I don't go on higher res whenever I'm playing games.

Then you might not even need a 3000 series but you could always wait for lower end 3000 series that's cheaper and use it for 1080p gaming and 4K movies

Thanks for the inputs. I'll let you know once I have decided and got the build already. :) I appreciate all your help and you were able to answer my doubts on my main concern which is the GPU and CPU.

to my knowledge the only benefit to an IPS panel will just be more colors being able to see from like 16.7 million colors to like 1.1 billion

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally got my build up and going.
No problems occurred whenever I'm playing and streaming in 1080p 6k bitrate but capped with 60fps for the stream. I used the CPU as the dedicated encoder instead of nvenc.

Temps for both cpu and gpu ranges from 60-80 for Warzone and 40-60 for Valorant. I also noticed that whenever I am turning off nvidia reflex setting for both games, my FPS goes a lot higher and usage goes higher too.

FPS doesn't drop below 135, averages around 144fps.

I need to get a better thermal cooler for the processor though.

Here are the specs from my build:

PROCESSOR: AMD RYZEN 5 3600X
MOBO: ASUS TUF B550M PLUS WIFI
RAM: TEAMGROUP TFORCE VULCAN TUF GAMING 2X8 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
GPU: ZOTAC GAMING GEFORCE RTX 2060 SUPER
STORAGE: CRUCIAL BX500 480GB SSD
WESTERN DIGITAL BLUE 2TB HDD
PSU: CORSAIR CX650M 650W 80 PLUS BRONZE SEMI MODULAR
CASE: PCcooler GAME 5 WHITE mATX TOWER
FANS: 3x ARCTIC F12 PWM PST STATIC PRESSURE FANS (FRONT) & 1x STANDARD AIRFLOW FAN (REAR)
MOUSE: LOGITECH G304 WIRELESS
KEYBOARD: RAZER DEATHSTALKER GAMING KEYBOARD
EARPHONES: RAZER HAMMERHEAD PRO V2
DISPLAY: LG 24GM79G 144HZ 24" TN PANEL GAMING MONITOR (Yes, I have an NVIDIA graphics card and my monitor doesn't match since it has an AMD Freesync capability. However, I don't use it anyway because it limits the PC's FPS)
