Hi everyone, i will probably upgrade to a RTX 3080/3070 from a 1070 as soon as i can, the problem is i have a BenQ XL2411 that is not equipped with a DisplayPort.
I was wondering if i would be able to install both GPUs in my system and use the 1070 to output the signal to the monitor while computing on the newer card.

It is just an idea i'll probably just sell this monitor and buy a newer one.

yes. but for gamign it uses the 1070. for computing you can select that the software uses the 3080 instead of the 1070. depends on the software. i wouls just buy 1440p+ monitor and sell the old one.

i think you can still render the frames in the other GPU and just pass it through?

never tested this myself

nvidia control panel does allow you to pick what GPU to render the game, and i used to have to pick the right GPU because windows the default is picking the wrong GPU

my game is an openGL game tho, not sure if that's the case for other games.

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

It has an HDMI port, and so do the RTX 3000 cards... Just use that.

The HDMI on the XL2411 does not support 144hz refresh rate.

So what are you using that’s gonna support 144hz? Dvi?

why not just get an adapter. You won’t be passing through from card to card for gaming.
