Which rig runs games with higher fps? AMD A10 with 1050 or with 1650?

Go to solution Solved by Energycore,

Welcome to the forums!

The 1650 is still going to be better.

CPU Bottlenecks are more complex than just capping the framerate at a certain fps.

You would benefit from a CPU upgrade sometime down the line though.

So, I got a question, which pc rig runs games with higher fps? AMD A-10 7870K with an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050 (Not bottlenecked) or AMD A-10 7870K with an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650 (Bottlenecked by 26%). So, GTX 1650 is better than 1050, but because it got bottlenecked by the CPU, is it still any better? Or is it worse? Or the same?

Thanks.

i dunno where you got this arbitrary percentage but yes, even if that is accurate to the point, the 1650 is a big jump from a 1050 and will run better. twice the vram and much faster, even with a slow cpu. ideally get a 1650 super but im guessing you need a low profile model?

topics i need help on:

my "oops i bought intel right before zen 3 releases" build

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (placeholder)

GPU: Gigabyte 980ti Xtreme (also placeholder), deshroud w/ generic 1200rpm 120mm fans x2, stock bios 130% power, no voltage offset: +70 core +400 mem

Memory: 2x16gb GSkill Trident Z RGB 3600C16, 14-15-30-288@1.45v

Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming

Cooler: Noctua NH-D15S w/ white chromax bling
OS Drive: Samsung PM981 1tb (OEM 970 Evo)

Storage Drive: XPG SX8200 Pro 2tb

Backup Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 4TB

PSU: Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 750W w/ black/white Cablemod extensions
Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Dark (to be replaced with a good case shortly)

basically everything was bought used off of reddit or here, only new component was the case. absolutely nutty deals for some of these parts, ill have to tally it all up once it's "done" :D

lol where does this site get any of its data? a 3600 and a 980ti is "8% bottleneck" and a 3600 + 1080ti is "3%" and thats all it tells me? and this gem: "AMD Ryzen 5 3600 will need at least 64GB of RAM to work well." lmfao and they claim to know exact framerates for cp2077 on various hardware combinations, what a terrible site

a 2700x also needs 64GB Ram according to that site lol
