What software are these ??

Below are screenshots of NASA kennedy space center and Houston control center using consoles running Windows xp with some softwares that keep track of flight dynamics..

 

I wnna know what type of programs are these and who makes them??

Probably made in house? I don't see why NASA would outsource for software

highly likely it's made in house, or made to spec by a contractor.

i'd imagine application names to be along the line of "flight dynamics".

 

as for why they would have made the switch to linux: see above.

when stuff is made in house or to spec, you do whatever is the best for your usecase.
