Hi!

I overclocked my i5 9600kf to a stable 5.1 ghz stress ran it for 1h but my voltage is 1.43 is it okay to keep it here if my temps are around 70?

Thanks !!

Too high if you care about lifespan. It wont die on you, but expect the overclock to not be stable soon as it degrades

Is that auto voltage? You might be able to lower it with offset or adaptive. 1.4v is the recommended max for anything long term

even 1.4v is a lot for 9th gen, usual long term overclocks are closer to 1.3v for these chips iirc

topics i need help on:

Also - keep in mind that the more cores you have, the lower highest voltage is recommended. A quad core from a few years ago could easily took 1.45v. Coffee lake 6 core was already down to 1.4v.. These days, 10 core chips run in low 1.3 ranges. I only said you're in the clear because it's not a high core count chip. But in any case, it's a high voltage.

My 6700k has been running @4.8ghz at 1.4v for years now, and has been stable and fine. If could do 4.9ghz at 1.46v, but I'm choosing not to push for that extra 100mhz because longevity is more important to me. I recommend the same to you. Lower that clock by 100mhz and run safer voltage. That's what I would do

Here's what I found on MSI website. Our recommendation is: 1.43v for i5-9600K 5GHz. So I think im good since i have MSI mobo.

Sidenote, I know it might not be ideal but im going to upgrade the cpu the coming year anyway.

Thanks for all the help!
