EVGA 3080

recently purchased the new EVGA 3080 and it came without a backplate, still works well but still very upsetting. Has this happened to anyone else?

Thats pretty standard for the Black Variant Of cards.

The black edition comes with no backplate

All editions above it do come with the backplate,  that's a bummer though

Asus TUF seems like a good option this year

I'd avoid EVGA right now, their QA has been lacking since 1000 series (google it), especially when it comes to fan controllers going nuts and temperature sensors glitching out. Their heatsinks are also a little on the lean side in my opinion. The FTW edition might be ok, but that pricetag..

I think the only card worth getting at this moment is the Asus TUF gpu (things might change in the future as more cards are released)

 

I wonder tho, if the TUF gpu is this good, what will the Strix and higher bring to the table that the TUF doesnt?
