Hey!

My Old PC is now 4 Years old and I think it's time to upgrade regarding the performance.

I bought it January 2017 as an PC, that got used 3 days on the Dreamhack in Germany because i had very small knowledge of PC's (still don't have) and thought this would be easier because of the warranty.

In the first time i had several problems with it, where i shipped it 4 times to the manufacturer to get it fixed and still have some issues I can't describe because I have no idea.

Because of that and because the overall look of my current PC is kinda boring i thought, that I just make everything on my own new and with a lot of RGB for more FPS lol.

Budget: 2000€-2500€

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: It will be mainly used for gaming (I have no special games to list here, but it should run new(er) AAA Games with at least 60 FPS (likely more)), sometimes SolidWorks, Fusion360 and very slight video editing.

Current PC:

Case: Fractal Design Define S Window

Mainboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z270F

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K

GPU: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 A8G

RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Crucial Ballistix Sport Elite DIMM DDR4 3000MHz

Storage: 250GB Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 SSD (I found only the german webseite)     |     2TB Seagate FireCuda SSHD

CPU cooler: Corsair Hydro H115i

Fans: Weird custom ones

PSU: Corsair RM650x

New PC (I currently want to buy):

Case: Fractal Design Vector RS Tempered Glass

Mainboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-E

CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K

GPU: Probably the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 or the one from ASUS

RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Corsair Vengance RGB Pro DDR4 3.600MHz

Storage: I don't know quite yet, but i think i go with an 1TB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS for Windows and some games and a 2,5" SSD.

CPU cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i RGB PRO XT

Fans: 1x Corsair LL140 RGB for the back     |     3x Corsair LL120 RGB to replace the ones on the CPU cooler

PSU: Corsair RM850i

I hope that the stuff isn't the worst I could've picked but also hope that you have some suggestions i could improve/implement.

And if this is important, her is the equipment/peripherals i have and keep:

Keyboard: Roccat Suora FX

Mouse: Roccat Kova AIMO

Monitor 1: ASUS MG28UQ 28" UHD

Monitor 2: An old 27" FullHD Monitor I don't know the brand of lol

I hope i didn't forgot something...

Thanks in advance!

You dont need 32gb of ram, 16gb is ok.

AMD has ryzen 4000 anouncing on Oct. 8, so I would wait.

Samgsung drives are way overpriced, a sabrent rocket 4.0 (Still a bit overprices) is just as good quallity, for cheeper. I would also get a hdd. you can have 2tb for about 50$ US, and games dont load much faster off a ssd. . IDK in Germany how much they cost

The mobo is ok, but for AMD (if you wait) will need a diffrent

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

What I'd recommend for right around €2100:

Or since you mentioned you plan on spicing this build up with some RGB:

^ regarding the extra fans I've added - if you do go with the O11 Dynamic, I would set them up in the bottom of the case as intakes, with the radiator on the side as exhaust.

When it comes to CLC AIOs, the Liquid Freezer II and EK-AIO top the charts in Gamers Nexus' testing in terms of performance, but if you can't get your hands on the EK-AIO (since it doesn't seem to be available in Germany, according to PCPP), then the H150i should do just fine.

I would just recommend getting some fans that are more optimised for static pressure though, as opposed to the LL120s you mentioned you plan on getting. Corsair's own ML120 Pros should work fine if you want to go RGB, otherwise I'd get some NF-F12 chromax.blacks (or NF-A12x25, though they only come in poop and tan at the moment).

While Intel is still the way to go for gaming, at 4K you'll be quite hard-pressed to notice much of a difference between the 10700K and AMD's 3700X, which is cheaper, draws less power, while not being far off the i7 performance-wise. I'd definitely suggest considering it, and if you do end up going that route, you could get away with a €150-200 B550 board, meaning you'd be saving some money there as well.

Alternatively, you could wait for Zen 3 CPUs, which are being revealed on October 8th.

One more thing of note, unless you plan on repurposing your current build, you could certainly salvage some parts out of it to save some money on the new system, like the power supply for example.

Desktop: Intel Core i9-9900K | ASUS Strix Z390-F | G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz CL14 | EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER XC Ultra | Corsair RM650x | Fractal Design Define R6

Laptop: 2018 Apple MacBook Pro 13"  --  i5-8259U | 8GB LPDDR3 | 512GB NVMe

Peripherals: Leopold FC660C w/ Topre Silent 45g | Logitech MX Master 3 & Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed | HIFIMAN HE400se & iFi ZEN DAC | Audio-Technica AT2020USB+

Display: Gigabyte G34WQC
