Help me decide

SirGh0st

Hi I'm planning on buying new Ryzen 4000 CPU and pair it with one of these 2 mobos. I like both MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk and GIGABYTE B550 AORUS ELITE but a just can't decide, would be really nice is someone could help and maybe say which one is better in what way. Thank you

What are you going to be powering? budget? what are these priced at? and are you limited to them?

strictly out of these, the tomahawk has the better vrm (10 ISL99360's).

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

Probably 4800x (3800x) some 8core zen 3 CPU, in terms of budget I would ideally like to stay about 150-170€ (I'm from EU) they are both priced the same in my country at 150€ and I'm not limited to them, is there something better you reckon?

They are both pretty good boards and will do great for any CPU, moth people will have a fit about which has a better vrms and say your not going to get much out of the other vrms, most a320 budget solutions would runs a 3950x, all be it pretty hot it would be fine, either way both these boards are good, I personally prefer the aurous elite due to looks but they are very similar in features and capability, don't worry too much about vrms and those sorts of things

No way. A B450 Tomahawk, the (2nd?) best B450 board has vrms at 110c with a 3950x.

Are pretty decent,

you could also look for the b550 steel legend as well.

alza.de is exactly where I will be buying from. So this one is even better than those 2? I don't want to waste your time but can you say why exactly? Thank you

Greg Salazar did a video on it, it was fine, probably not great long term but it worked, if you heatsinked them even better, what I've done to my a320, I only run a 1200 atm, but temps are below 30 under load

I’d personally trust Hardware Unboxed over Greg Salazar when it comes to important components in my PC.

Same but I wouldn't say he's not trustworthy, either way a 3950x would run ok not that I'm recommending it, but people think way too much about a boards vrms when most of the time they are all pretty capable of running most of the chips available, they usually run hotter and less stable though
