i5-10300H vs i7-9750H, GDDR5 vs GDDR6

hey guys!

I need a new laptop. Right now, i have 2 options:

-legion 5 (or new nitro 5): i5-10300H + gtx 1650 4GB DDR6

-legion y540(or old nitro 5): i7-9750H + gtx 1650 4GB DDR5

i am an engineer and a gamer. i run NX, Inventor, solidworks and play some new AAA games

what do you think? which one should i go with?

Oh this 100%, specifically for solid works and inventor the 2 extra cores will be amazing.

The i7 one would be better. It has a 6 core 12 threaded processor while the 10th gen i5 only has 4 cores and 8 threads. There shouldn't be a discernable difference between the two 1650's since I believe nvidia limited the GDDR6 version of the 1650 anyway to match the gddr5 version.

The y540. If possible look into the hp omen with ryzen 4000 cpu or the xmg core 15 amd. Should be around the same price with a 4600h but offer a better gpu.
