are your games cpu limited? if yes then it's an upgrade, if not then you would see close to no difference.

generally speaking, it's an upgrade for most modern AAA games.

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

i don’t believe the 3600 is faster in gaming then your 6700k is.

it is non k. yes it is faster. a fair bit.

if you oc the 6700k to 5ghz; mayby 3600 will be only a bit faster

Just stick with 6700k if you can't get Ryzen 7 3700x.... My advice would be that if you got money in your pocket just get Ryzen 7 3700x or don't upgrade otherwise it would downgrade ya...

3600 is much ebtter than 6700. it will be a upgrade for gamign and good upgrade for rendering etc

I won't really suggest you do that.. bcuz its a gamble on what games you choose to play...

what. 3600 is better than 6700 at every game sicne 3600 has better single core performance

The real main reason I am asking you not to do that is because your GPU is really powerful and I fear about a little bottleneck in performance as the i7 runs at a  better clockspeed.. Moreover todays games take more advantage of clockspeed over other parts I hope you understand..

actually that 6700 has lower clock speeds than 3600. not to mention that the ipc of 4600 is much better than 6700.

actually games start to utilize more cores over clockspeed

Dude that really depends on what game are you playing and really if I had to upgrade I won't actually upgrade to Ryzen 5 because 3700x is way better than 6700.. And we don't know if he has a "k" or not

he said he has 6700. and i think that OP does not know hot to oc, so the 6700 wont boost over 4ghz then.

3700x has the same performance in games as 3600 give it + 1-2fps.

in evey game 3600 beats 6700. and in pretty much anything it beats the 6700.

only where 6700 could win 3600 is on AVX workloads

Thanks for the input guys,

im using non K. it's just that, it bothers me when i play AA/AAA games like tomb raider on 1440p ultra.

in MSI after burner it says 99% gpu usage and 70% cpu usage

but in task manager it says 70-90% cpu usage and 20-40% gpu usage.

have no really idea which is real

thanks

The 3600 will be a nice upgrade, but as it stands now, i'd wait 2 more monthe until you can get your hands on the 4600 or whatever the successor will be called.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
