Hi! I am planning on upgrading my GPU soon, and I have heard some REALLY bad things about the AMD drivers and I don't want to put hundreds of $$$ down the drain. Any help will be much appreciated.

It somewhat depends but the drivers for amd like 20.02.1 are getting better. Amd drivers are becoming more and more stable even more so then Nvidia drivers.

I'm on 20.8.1 and have had no issues. I would get black screens on 20.4.2. The drivers are on par with nvidia at this point

Agreed they are. I just said 20.8.1 as I used to have Rx 580 and the new driver was 20.8.1, I now have a gtx 1660 super

Personally I'd wait until they have 2 years of solid drivers without any issues like the 5700 had; which, frankly, was entirely unacceptable.

I imagine Nvidia will have a better card this year anyway, depending on what level you're looking at.
