Honestly I would have to say Battlefield 4 is one of the worst game purchases I have ever made.

From the day the game was released it was extremely broken. And still now, I get consistent lag issues (not hardware related at all), map glitching loading, blazing sun (sun is way to bright in some maps),

and many others. Personally I would stick with BF3, yes it had issues at the start, but they were all fixed within a reasonable time frame.

Also with BF4 they released premium at launch with a dlc right away! Even when the game wasn't even close to complete.

And because of this you are basically forced to buy premium, if not it's not even worth paying, just another way of getting money out of you.

Trust me, like many others you will regret your purchase. I pre-ordered Bf4, and I have played it once since release.

In fact the full game was so bad, the beta was even better, google it, seriously.

Its fun but dont pay more than $20 for it. "A lot of people" think the game is great and they look beyond its problems. But the thing is the game is really shitty, in that its not optimized still... Audio problems, frame pacing problems, etc. Its really in beta and im sad to say i paid $60 for a beta... Those who like that game have fun, but its NOT worth more than $20 at this point in time. Try to get BF3 its WAY better than BF4, and cheaper...

I was forced to upgrade to Windows 8 to play it.  It was unplayable on Windows 7 for me even after all the ridiculous band-aid trouble shoot/fixes.

With that said, it can be fun.  Although, I logged in last night and there was no sound after 300 tickets were left in a round

Is Battlefield 4 good compared to BF3?

Is it worth it if you have BF3?

Absolutely, take it from a guy who owns Bf1942, complete BF2, BF2142, BFBC2, BF3 premium (475hrs) , and BF4 Premium (150hrs).

I haven't played much after New year, and until Second assault, but I can say that the game is pretty good, they ironed out most of the things. And besides I was lucky because I hadn't had many clientsidebugs or crashes ever, mostly servercrashes. Also Win8.1 is recommended as it gives the best performance, my rig gives anywhere between 60-120FPS depending on the map and the situation, but mostly 80FPS.

EDIT:

Its fun but dont pay more than $20 for it. "A lot of people" think the game is great and they look beyond its problems. But the thing is the game is really shitty, in that its not optimized still... I hadn't had any of the problems he listed (also frame-pacing is never caused by a game), I paid full retail with premium on day one after participating in beta (Bf3 premium owner) and I'm not sorry, the game gave me loads of fun, which is the only thing that matters in the end.

i think the general consensus across youtube and the internets is BF3 is better, but personally I'd pick up Bad company 2

Worth it? Depends how many hours you expect to get out of a game before saying "money well spent". I bought BF4 on Amazon for 49$ and Premium at Gamers Gate for 27£ later, and I'd say after about 200 hours I've gotten what I paid for. Much better than spending 100€ on a single Friday night out.

Apart from the somewhat broken state of the game, I think it's an improvement on top of Battlefield 3. Weapon balance, customisation, maps, etc. are things I consider superior to BF3. (Maps being subjective).

If you can find a good deal, say, 50% off + Premium, go for it. Tonnes of fun.

That's just like saying to DICE or EA you don't need to make a perfect game, I'll buy it anyway. They don't give a F if you're gonna play it for 10 or 200 or 1000hours, they are getting the full money for the game, that's all what matters to them.

it's everything battlefield3 was supossed to be

Exactly. It's a great game, BUT at this point if you don't have anyone to play with it gets a little bit frustrating. I can never find anyone to stick with me in the game and it is irritating as hell.

To recap, it's a matter of personal preference. You can, and should try bf4 on origin, you can get your money back if you don't like it within 7 days.

EDIT: Also this:

bugs are getting worse with each server and client patch.

So be warned.

1 vs 1 engagements are mostly a coin toss by the server now.

Its good, but it's not perfect. Mind you, it's a heck of a lot better than when I played during launch week. As for BF3, the older title just feels nicer to play but new title is more fun (and when you've logged nearly 500H like I have in the old title, you've pretty much explored everything)

Is it good?

Well, I played Beta, pre-ordered and also bought Premium.

Honestly, I feel dirty after having actually played the game for over 200 hours, there are so many other things I could have spent my money on that I would have gotten so much more from.
I've had fun moments, it's not that it's a bad game, just that it's so unfulfilled to it's fullest and the few bugs it has are so absolutely fucking detrimental to the enjoyability and playability of the game that it's fundamentally a steaming pile of garbage that you can enjoy once in a while.

It's so frustrating, that it's driven me back to playing SWTOR cause I absolutely needed something else to play, and I loathed SWTOR and PvP in that game for being unbalanced and incredibly bullshit retarded, so it's sad that I managed to go from one annoying game to one that was even more so.
(Though, inbetween the two, I played FFXIV-ARR for a long time, PVP in that game was an absolute joke.)

All in all, if you can't get it discounted, and I mean, severely, then just go grab something else. Hell, I'd sooner go and play through the campaigns of Call of Duty before spending more hours in Battlefield...
