How can I safely take this apart?

I have removed the battery from the phone and put it into a sealed glass jar. This thread is considered solved.

I have tried taking apart my old phone (moto z2 play) and when disconnecting the battery terminals i disconnected the wires from the connector. I now have two exposed wires that are extremely close to one another and are extremely close to touching. How can I safely fix this without blowing up my battery?

Okay I have safely seperated the two wires and taped them in electrical tape.
