Monitor Running at very low framerate

Hi, I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 on a Thinkpad T480s with an external monitor, the laptop screen is perfectly smooth however, everything on the monitor is choppy, feels like its running at 10fps. Laptop never exceeds 60% load, any ideas on how to fix this? 

Specs:

I7- 8650U - Integrated GPU 

24 GB Ram

Nevermind, I've installed mesa after update the xorg intel driver and it's fine now.
