Droid Cam vs IP Webcam

In one of the recent LTT videos about building a streaming setup for cheap, they used IP Webcam and Droid Cam to replace webcams with phone cameras. In the video, IP webcam was suggested specifically for Android and Droid Cam for iOS. I am using Droid Cam for my android phone and it is working perfectly fine. Why was this suggestion made in the video?
