Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: cyberpunk, Genshin impact, fall guys, Warframe, office 249, code vein, shadow of the tomb raider, titanfall 2, microsoft flight simulator 2020, emulation such as rpcs3, cemu, and yuzu

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 

-My preferred resolution is 1440p with 144hz (other than flight sim ill rather have a stable 60 or 100)

 

- everything but the gpu will be purchased by christmas (price is not listed on peripherals so that you can judge the pc build pricing alone)

 

- did the math and a 3070 with a tdp of 220 will only need around 400 watts with my components

I am currently upgrading from a HP palvion pre-built:

gtx 1060 3gb

I5-7400
8 gigs of ddr4 ram at ddr4's minimum speed
1 tb 7200 HDD
300 watt no name 80+ bronze power supply with ketchup and mustard cables
horrible airflow case with one exhaust fan

Throw in another $30ish for hard drive, cuz games are getting big.

Though a 550w will be enough, you might want a slightly larger one for piece of mind and to leave some room for upgrades.

yes i plan to use my current 1tb hard drive since that's pretty much the only "good thing" left in my current system. I'll buy a sata ssd later on but rn (especially with the new render tech for the 3000 series, i don't necessarily need it). and I'll consider the bigger psu thanks

i'd go with 1tb ssd and 650w psu
