This is a decent 11 inch convertable for $400 http://www8.hp.com/us/en/m/ads/pavilionx360/overview.html? I am buying the 8gb version myself. The 8gb version is $75 more, but that also an ok deal. I have spent around 10 hours looking at 11" convertables under $600, and this is definatly the best. The only disadvantage is it doesn't come with office.

Not sure how much I would trust that thing... I always bought HP's, and I always had to replace them because the hinges go out...

I'm talking about a simple 100 degree rotation hinge, and they don't last, I can't imagine how bad they can fuck up a complex hinge. On the other hand my wife has a Yoga 13 and it has held up great for almost a year now, and my newish Lenovo Thinkpad I have for work is already starting to get a wobbly hinge. I've never seen that HP before, I'm just going off of previous experiences with them.

the other laptop I was looking at was also an hp, and it had great reviews. My desktop is an hp (however I put in a gtx 660, new mobo, new psu, and 500gb ssd) and it hasn't had that many problems. If it does get messed up I can just get a new one (it has a one year warrenty).

haha. Only on the topic of your desktop PC: Isn't that technically a custom build with an HP case at that point?

Kind of cool to do that. Maybe I should find a late 90's Alienware case and turn it into a newer desktop.

yes, bu it really wasn't bad before the upgrades, only the psu broke (my dad replaced the mobo because he thought that's what was messed up) it was pretty cheap. For a 2009 computer, it wasn't bad at all.

Ahh, right on. Components are going to break and that's one of the areas most prebuilt PCs really skimp on is the PSU so that makes sense.

But right on.

Still looking for that 90's Alienware case.

I didn't mean it as if I was bashing on them, I actually like HP products, its just the only thing that breaks on them is the hinge. Until two years ago I had bought a new HP laptop once a year for 8 years straight when the hinge would get wobbly. I even bought a HP desktop for the convenience the warranty (4 years starting after the 1 year manufacture, gotta love Sams Club business memberships) that I use as the family shared PC in the living room, I'm actually on it right now.

I started buying HP Elitebooks for my uncles company and they are ridiculously good, most of the guys travel every day so the trucks have laptop stands in the passenger seat and my dad's is almost a year and a half old now and the hinge works as if it was brand new. Everything about the Elitebooks is top notch compared to the normal HP products, it has to be a completely separate division of HP developing them.
