Case airflow with a 3080

Hey guys, need some help from someone who understands airflow/thermodynamics/physics/etc.

 

Suppose I have a build that looks like the image attached.

 

If I slap in a 3080 FE, the hot air from the card would get exhausted right into the CPU heatsink (if I understood the workings of the new card airflow correctly). Would that be a problem in any way?

The CPU could get a bit hotter, that's it. Nvidia does this because with their current design (and pretty much all coolers with axial fans), hot air tends to get trapped in the PCIe slot region because there's no fan pulling hot air out in that region. Some do mod the case to put a small fan in the pcie slot region for this reason.

Yes, it looks like the reference designs will be resulting in slightly higher cpu temps this generation. Nothing official yet just speculation. You will need to wait until launch for a confirmed answer. Gamers Nexus has already said they will be doing in-depth testing on this when they get their cards.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

It's a Fractal Meshify C Mini case, AFAIK it's one of the best case for decent airflows in this form factor. Hopefully lots of air can get in through that mesh in the front of the case.
