I live in a condo so I'm short on space and don't have a dedicated office/garage, so I've got a small 2-3 foot rolling storage thing I use for most of my cords, older PC components, extra watercooling material, etc. Curious what other's have as I'm looking to upgrade my storage solution. Given my requirement of being mobile/rolling, honestly a regular old rolling tollbox/cabinet might be best.

What's everyone else using if not using a dedicated room for their pc tools/excess hardware/cords/etc?

I pretty much use SSDs and if i have something like that, SSDs are king because they wont get damaged at all. Usually you can set up a NAS and it will work fine :D

Eh, I think you misunderstood...not looking at digital storage, need physical compartments for cords, older GPUs, heatsinks, wifi cards, adapters, etc

Yeah a NAS storage device, that will heavily depend on which you use. I generally have it next to the Modem/router, so consider where that is and see if you can fit a NAS Storage box. If not get a bit crafty with it. Generally a shelving unit, even small or a book case kind of thing would work :)

You still don't get what OP saying... OP is looking for storage options for storing actual items, not computer storage... Like a tote bin or a move-able cupboard to put physical items into.

I just put all my stuff in bins and boxes. Ugly yet effective. I also can't be bothered to sort items (even if I did it always ends up being a total chaos after a week of use) so this storage solution fits me very well.

I thought so too but then the last sentence makes sense again:

I use wall mounted storage personally, saves floor space in my room for bigger things that can't go onto shelves and or pegs. Depends on how big the items are you want to store. For cables/cords and items that can go onto it I use pegboards. For GPUs and components that are larger and or in boxes I use floating shelves that I made myself. Here is a link to the pegboards I use and a link for manufactured floating shelves.

Pretty sure they are referring to using those for custom NAS Storage containers, not as actual storage. Like something you can build the NAS system into instead of buying a commercial housing unit.

Not sure how much stuff you have, but honestly I just use a big ass tote from Walmart/Lowes/Home Depot. Anything fragile like hard drives I keep in a smaller separate box.

It's not elegant or easy to find stuff in, but it seems like cables will tangle no matter what unless you have them individually packaged. I try and use velcro to keep them from uncoiling and keep things a little neater

Shelving and totes.

Your post doesn't really spell out what exactly you're trying to store.

If you need a lot of space, rent out a storage locker. They're cheap.
