Hey, I'm looking for a good/cheap 120GB SSD.

I'm not so good with Computer Hardware and I'm not sure which SSD would be the best, never ever had one.

Any advice?

Samsung 840 EVO is the suggested SSD, I don't see a reason to go with any other at current prices.

Kingston V300 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingston-Technology-120GB-Solid-2-5-inch/dp/B00A1ZTZOG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394110542&sr=8-1&keywords=kingston+v300

Even cheaper at £52, and it's a great SSD. The EVO is great too, but I don't think you'll notice a difference between the v300 and EVO.

EDIT : I don't know if you're from the UK, I used Amazon UK because of the user above me, but it doesn't matter. Even in USD/CAN the v300 is cheaper.

That's just the one I had in my mind. :)

Wasn't sure tho. Thanks anyways.!

No problem, it comes with data migration software too if you need that.

Samsung 840 EVO recommendations incoming!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would anything else be recommended unless there's a great sale on another good SSD.

The 840 EVO is a great SSD but you're just overglorifying it. The difference between it and a 15$ cheaper V300 is hardly noticeable in everyday usage.

I don't think I am, the EVO is better than the V300, especially with Samsung's Magician Software and migration software.  It's undoubtedly worth the extra money.

I never said that the EVO wasn't better than the V300. You're simply unable to notice the difference between the two in everyday usage. (a bit like doing a Raid 0 on SSDs is pointless. It's undoubtely faster, but you won't notice it unless you do very specific things)

I have a EVO myself, and my cousin bought a V300 considering he was on a tighter budget. I really can't notice any difference in boot times, installation/lauching times and whatnot, even if the EVO is better on paper.

I'm not saying that the EVO is a bad choice, I'm just tired of people posting "EVO, what else?" as if it was the only SSD worth considering, in every topic.
