RAM Stick dead after not using my pc for a month?

Hello,

 

I just turned my PC on for the first time since July. Strangely enough, it didn't post so I checked all cable connections, reseated the GPU and then checked the RAM. After taking one of the sticks out, my pc posted. Then i tried the stick in a different RAM slot - no post. 

 

Is this just a normal thing that happens? Did I do something wrong? I just can't explain why this would happen.

clean the ram, clean the slots.

use contact cleaner to do it.

Sticks can die for basically ANY reason. It's weird in how they do that but it happens.
I've had sticks, CPU,s GPU's and so on just die from sitting and nothing else.

 

However a poor seating of the stick can make the system act like it's dead too - Make sure the sticks(s) are fully seated.

Well, I guess it just wanted to die then
