Few things:

-16gb will be fine for basically all games

-$50 on a WiFi card is too much

-You're overpaying for that RX570. Could get a second hand or new one for about $100

-You must get an SSD or your system will take a huge hit to performance.

I'll put a list of my suggestions together, gimme a min

PC

Ryzen 5 2600 Stock

Sapphire Nitro+ Special Edition Radeon RX580 8GB (Would Recommend)

Gigabyte B450M DS3H (Don't recommend)

Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition

Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4 3000MHz CL15

Phanteks P300 (Would Recommend)

Kingston A400 240GB SSD

Seagate BarraCuda 1TB HDD

Corsair CX550M 550W  80+ Bronze

Deepcool FH-10 Fan Hub

3x BeQuiet Pure Wings 2

Slightly OT but why whenever there is a thread like this are all the posts "I don't like it" with absolutely zero advice for OP on what they should do to improve? If you're going to take the time to write a post criticising someone's plans at least write a constructive one...

For OP: Get an SSD in, even if just a small one to boot windows off. Booting off a hard drive is a massive performance hit these days. WD Blue are often recommended.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Here is a list fixed ssd, fixed 16GB ram instead, semi-modular PSU, Okay GPU , 2TB drive, R5 3600. The build is a little overbudget also if you plan on oc get a cooler for the cpu

A bit of insight to the reasons some parts were chosen:

mATX boards are generally cheaper than ITX, and this system will never need any add-on cards and will probably never be upgraded until it is replaced in 4~5 years.

Since we have to get a mATX board, and wanting a B450 chipset coupled with available options due to COVID we have to select a board without built in wif.  In most of the options I have seen, the cost of the Mobo will adjust accordingly so to the Wifi option.  Purchased separately you seem to pay for the cost of your wireless card.

The user of this system is not going to be wiling to take care of a water cooling setup so we must use heat-sinks and fans.

Lastly, I am unsure about the hard drive, they will want space but is it possible to find a 1TB Solid state for under $100? Maybe I am looking in the wrong places.

Thanks so far!

87.99 for a 256gb ssd?

id go for a p300a, should be around $30 cheaper.

I would suggest this:

-Better motherboard with onboard WiFi

-Much better GPU

-480Gb of ssd storage

The stock cooler for the 3600 is adequate. If you want to save a little, look out for a Ryzen 3 3300X for below $130, but it's unlikely to be in stock

Also, you'll probably want to add some case fans to the P300A as front intake
