So I'm really new to this and I need to know how to make my laptop's performance better...

I play fortnite on my intel inside core i5 (it has two cores that's all I know bout it)laptop and I get maximum of 25fps that's very rare.

So I need to know if I can add anything externally or internally to improve performance.

please help.

Or atleast send a video link u know would help me...

PLEEEEASE......

And thank u so much!!!...

We need more specs than that. Like how much ram? Specifically what i5? What GPU? Maybe even the model number of the laptop itself.

Try lowering the resolution of your laptop's screen. The quality will be hurt but you may get more FPS.
Additionally, if you prop your laptop up with something and allow the cooling to breathe a bit better, then you may see better or more consistent performacne (don't quote me on this)

If you don't know much about computers you will possibly make more harm than good if you mess with your laptop better go to a computer shop to get it upgraded.

*The easier thing to upgrade is RAM and  HD to SSD that is if your laptop has removable panels to access the hardware.

* The most difficult thing is to upgrade the CPU because you need to take the whole laptop apart and even if you do that many newer laptops don't even have a socket for the CPU.

* External GPU are very hard to setup and have compatibility problems you will need expert assistance.

And thunderbolt 3 support which has thankfully seen a rise in recent years

I think we are talking about an old laptop without thunderbolt and the other solution is to add an external GPU via mini pci-e

Ah, right, didn't know about that one.
I'm assuming that it would be hard to hook up to a laptop?

It's hard for someone who is not into computers.

* you need to take apart your laptop

* remove your wifi

* replace it with a mini pci-e to pci

* get a USB WiFi

* get a PSU to power the GPU

* find some sort of case to put everything in and tidy all the cables

* Pray that you have done everything correctly

* Connect GPU to external Monitor

Even if you do everything correctly your laptop may not support a GPU in the place of the WiFi, there is no compatibility list about that.

@Biomecanoid@Mounika Will repasting the CPU and adding more ram help?

Re-pasting the cpu can be hard because you need to take the whole laptop apart.

* Adding more Ram is easy IF your laptop has access panels.

*Also replacing the HD with SSD will give you a huge performance boost again,  IF your laptop has access panels.

This is what i did to my laptop:

I guess you just need to be lucky enough to have a replaceable ram, storage and a socket for the cpu...

You might be able to upgrade the RAM. But that’s an old Laptop and Intel’s iGPU isn’t the best for gaming. That CPU is 7 generations out of date. While it would work for some tasks, without a dGPU your kinda sunk for getting g better gaming performance.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Any 5 year old game should play fine. There are still many older games that look awesome
