Ah so that is what you mean. So basically a power connector specially designed for PCIE on the board that connects on the bottom for a cleaner, more simplistic look.

exactly, and i would buy the resulting products from the manufacturers interested enough to do this. you could even take it another step further by making the pass-through plugs the standard PCI-E power connector we're all familiar with, therefore not even requiring a change on the PSU side of things.

the only problem i can foresee is with these cards requiring dedicated power on a mini-ITX motherboard. if that's the case, a couple of $5 L-adapters could be supplied if there was enough room.

Desktop: CM Elite 130 - Corsair CX600M PSU - Asus Maximus VI Impact - Intel Core i7-4790K (@4.4GHz) - Corsair H80i - 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 - Asus DirectCUII Radeon R9 290 - 250GB Samsung EVO SSD + 4TB WD Red HDD

Laptop: Asus N56DP-DH11 (AMD A10-4600M - Radeon HD7730M) -------------------------------------------------------- I know, I'm a bit of an AMD fanboy --------------------------------------------------------

This is a very good idea but if somebody upgraded from a card that didn't need extra power to a card that required power how would the person acccess said connector? The only way I see is to dismount the board, connect it, and remount. That would be a major pain in the lower posterior.

I'm thinking about checking out those Gunnar glasses for long periods of computer use.

Any thoughts?

it's a lot of marketing BS, but they do seem to help.

I haven't had eye fatigue or headaches from excessively trolling in a while.

there's also a ~5% magnification, so that's something to keep in mind.

probably > a year now, nonprescription.

Nothing really special, just get whatever frame is cheapest since the glass is all the same, and it's not like you're going to be playing hockey in them. I don't even know what frame I have anymore.

though are a pain in the ass to keep clean though, the smallest smudge and dirt on them will be beyond annoying. Will need cleaning VERY often.

It's somewhat interesting as HD, or "High Definition" is now the standard, whereas SD, or "Standard Definition" no longer is. What we call Ultra HD will likely soon become the new professional standard.

Professional Standard? No. 4K is already far gone. 8K is the new professional standard.

Consumer standard? In a few years.

Well, I meant in terms of what we can expect from professionally-made entertainment. And 8K seems too unlikely to be implemented soon, to say the least.
