How long can you wait before building? New nvidia gpus are launching in a matter of weeks and new amd cpus and gpus along with new intel cpus are launching sometime later this year.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

My budget rang is between 2,500-3,000 USD. I already have a monitor, case, and ram picked out. I need help with everything else. The pc will be used for gaming and streaming on twitch and a little bit of editing.

sorry if I’m bothering

Don't build a PC right now, the new gpus are about to be announced and the current gen ones suck for the money. Nvidia was hinting at something September 1st.

2.5-3k for all the other parts, or including said parts? If the latter, we will need to know what they are to factor the cost in.

Nvm everyone is telling me to wait until all the new stuff comes out thanks tho

Then don’t bother with the effort of making a list now, by then there will be all new parts and prices. Make the list a week or two before you plan on buying.

It would be so bad to buy anything now. Nvidia is under a ton of pressure because the XBox Series X is coming out in a couple of months with a gpu whose rasterization power is somewhere in between 2080 and 2080 Super and PS5 with a gpu in between 2070 and 2070 Super. You're talking current $700 and $500 gpus in consoles that are likely to cost $500, maybe $600. So Nvidia is gong to have to really up the price to performance if they want people buying their shit instead of the new consoles. On top of that the new Nvidia gpus seem very very power hungry so you might end up needing a bigger power supply than you would budget for if building right now.

If you are prioritising gaming then get whatever Intel’s current best CPU is (i9 109...), if you are prioritising editing and streaming then get AMD’s best CPU (go Ryzen 9, not thread ripper)

Wait for RTX 3000 and then get the best non Titan or quadro card (3090?) assuming the leaks aren’t true and it isn’t 2000$.

Kogan 144hz monitor (Overclocked to 165) Ryzen 3 3100, RX 580 Gigabyte Windforce (1450 mhz) 2 x 8GB CL15 DDR4 3133 (Overclocked from 2400) Phanteks P300 white (RGB set to purple), Zarrius Deskpad (I have the yellow one), Razer Deathadder Essential, CK62 wireless (don’t use it wireless)
